Four Corner Stones When Storing Your Intimate Apparel
Whether we have walk in closets or not we will always have a spot for the different types of clothes that we own. There are various storage guidelines for various types of clothing. For example formal gowns and other evening wear should be placed in a garment bag and then hanged. While shirts and other casual wear are usually folded and arranged. Jeans are either hanged or folded. Whichever way the clothing is stored, it would still be best to follow the guidelines because by doing so you will not only keep your clothes from getting dirty, crumpled and ruined but you will also be able to extend its lifespan.
There is no denying that every woman owns a pair or two or even more when it comes to intimate apparel. Intimates have always been a part of a woman's clothing line. We all know that these clothes are made from fine materials.
Intimate apparel is different from the regular clothes most women wear. This clothing line needs extra care especially when storing them. Not all storing guidelines for clothing are applicable when it comes to keeping your intimate apparel. Although some may be somewhat the same, there will always be an exception. Here are some of the storing tips that you might want to consider when stocking your intimates inside the closet.
1. Before you store your intimates inside the closet make sure that they are dry. Storing moist underwear will cause it to smell bad and not only that, the moisture will also weaken the fabric thus shortening the lifespan of your intimate apparel.
2. It would also be great if you have a separate storage space for your intimates. Not only will this help you locate them easily, it will also keep you from rummaging through all your clothes just to find your desired underwear. Plus, a separate space will allow you to organize your intimates better especially if it comes in sets and pairs.
3. Some women fold their bra in order to save space or in cases when adequate space is not available. But the ideal way to store your bra is to spread it out with the cups not folded inward. Folding the bra will cause the cups to loose its shape. You can stack more than two bras as long as you spread it out and the cups are not misshapened.
4. Although we are used to ironing and pressing our clothes, when it comes to underwear, ironing is really not a good idea. Unlike ordinary clothes, intimates don't get crumpled up and aside from that, the fine materials used to create these may not be able to stand the heat of an iron. Ironing may cause some of the stretchable materials to lose its resiliency causing them to hung lose and be out of shape.
Proper storage of your intimate apparel will not only lengthen its lifespan but it will also help you save. Intimates that are well stored will contribute to the positive feeling as well as the confidence of the wearer.
